National Space Day Workshop: Space is the Limit
To celebrate National Space Day 2024, ECLIPSE organized a half-day workshop titled “Space is the Limit: Powered by Science & Technology” — bringing together students, faculty, and expert voices from the frontier of space exploration.
Featured Speakers
Pranit Mehta — Founding Member, GalaxEye
Pranit shared insights into the startup ecosystem in the Indian space sector, the story behind GalaxEye, and how commercial innovation is reshaping satellite technology.
Prof. S. Chandrashekar — Former ISRO Scientist & Visiting Professor, NIAS
A veteran of India’s space program, Prof. Chandrashekar provided a broad perspective on where India stands globally in space science, what milestones have been achieved, and what the future holds.
About the Day
The workshop ran from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and featured a mix of talks, open Q&A, and informal conversations between students and speakers. It was a rare opportunity to engage directly with people who have shaped India’s presence in space.
Special thanks to Prof. Jaya Sreevalsan Nair for enabling the event and to all speakers, contributors, and attendees who made the day memorable.
The Evening Quiz
The celebrations continued in the evening with an Astronomy Quiz co-hosted with the Quiz Society — drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd. All participants received special ECLIPSE stickers as mementos.
Organized by ECLIPSE Astronomy Club in collaboration with IIIT Bangalore.
